Envision Launches InFlight Cloud Platform

“We heard from many organizations that they wanted the benefits of cloud computing, but they also wanted a local option with people they knew and trusted behind the solution,” says Todd Knapp, Envision’s CEO. “InFlight gives our clients all the benefits of The Cloud, provided by a team who knows them and their business and who takes their success personally.”
Partnering with Prov.net, a SSAE 16 / SOC 2 datacenter in Providence, RI, Envision developed a cloud services platform that can provide high availability, security (including HIPPA and PCI compliance), and complete management and monitoring up to the operating system. Additional services that are offered include cloud replication, reporting, and even a fully managed private cloud infrastructure.
One of the first organizations to begin using InFlight was Virtual DBS, Inc., a RI-based data analytics company. Envision’s CTO, Jeff Wilhelm, explains the company’s decision to leverage InFlight.
“Virtual DBS had initially been operating their own robust private cloud,” Jeff says, “They had some components that were coming up on end-of-life which needed to be replaced, and they were looking for some improvements in performance. After evaluating the costs of building and managing a new environment on their own, they realized that InFlight provided a less expensive alternative with much greater performance. With InFlight, Virtual DBS can focus on end user support and business needs, rather than managing infrastructure.”
“Our experience has been nothing but positive,” remarked Ken Stewart, Virtual DBS’ Chief Technology Officer. “We have experienced an over 300% performance increase as well as a marked reduction in administration tasks. I would highly recommend Envision's InFlight platform.”
